他曾任任伯班克商會執行董事（1979-84），阿斯特拉旅遊公司銷售副總裁（1984-86）；1987年在法國創辦馬奎斯公司，業務覆蓋運動服裝出口、旅遊、葡萄酒中介、出版、珍本書&收藏品轉售，另外還創辦了多家電子商務企業。

維克爾斯筆耕不輟、涉獵廣泛，出版超過70部作品，包括犯罪紀實、國際旅遊、加州葡萄酒、建築、歷史、法國南部介紹、太平洋沿岸旅遊名勝、社會諷刺、拍賣、美術市場、詩歌、小說與攝影報道等等。
