籍貫山東，但從來還沒有踏上中國國土。高中時，糊理糊塗地選中了台灣大學醫科系，但從此也帶動了家族從醫的興趣，畢業後，飄到美國「扎了根」，成家立業。在美國先後考取內科、急診科雙重專科，行醫至今三十多年，又心血來潮，間接地寫出這三十多年的感受。
