《金閣寺》是日本著名作家三島由紀夫最具代表性的長篇小說，故事取材於1950年7月實際發生的縱火事件。生來為口吃苦惱的青年溝口雖受盡同學和心愛女子的嘲笑，但精神世界無比豐沃。從貧窮的鄉下來到金閣寺出家之後，終日沉迷於金閣之美，幻想在戰火中與金閣同歸於盡的壯美場面。然而這一願望最終化為泡影，絕望之餘，他毅然將金閣付諸一炬。集中體現了三島的所謂“毀滅之美”。
著者：三島由紀夫，原名平岡公威，日本小說家、劇作家、導演、演員。曾三次入圍諾貝爾文學獎，被譽為日本的“海明威”。其作品中剛毅與優柔的對峙、唯美的浪漫與純然、深刻的內省與自白，令無數讀者沉醉。長篇小說《假面的告白》確立其文壇地位，《潮騷》榮獲第1屆新潮社文學獎，《金閣寺》榮獲第8屆讀賣文學獎。
