大仲馬著陳筱卿譯的《基督山伯爵(上下)(精)/世界文學名著》是通俗歷史小說，法國有名作家大仲馬的代表作。法老號大副唐代斯受船長委託，為波拿巴黨人送了一封信，遭到兩個卑鄙小人和法官的陷害，被打死牢。獄友法裏亞神甫向他傳授各種知識，並在臨終前把埋於基督山島上的一批寶藏秘密告訴了他。唐代斯越獄後找到了寶藏，成為巨富。從此名基督山伯爵，經過精心策劃，報答了恩人，懲罰了仇人。本充滿浪漫的傳奇色彩，章章奇特新穎，引人入勝。
大仲馬（1802—1870），法國作家。1944年創作長篇歷史小說《三個火槍手》（又譯《三劍客》）獲得成功，奠定了他作為歷史小說家的地位。次年《基度山伯爵》問世，再次引起轟動。他一生勤奮寫作，留下幾十部戲劇作品和一百多部小說，是法國十九世紀最多產、最受民眾歡迎的作家之一。
