故事发生在中国雷州半岛的银鸥小镇，杜宇和惠子兄妹俩在明月礁遇见一只能听懂人类语言的海龟。一百多年前，这只海龟生活在大海里，无忧无虑。不幸的是，它玩耍时将一个合金钢圈套在脖子上，随着年龄的增长，脖颈被钢圈勒住，海龟的生命危在旦夕。为了帮助海龟，杜宇和惠子经历了一系列离奇的事情，最后通过激光手术取下钢圈，使海龟获得新生。一场跌宕起伏的海洋冒险，一段人与海龟的传奇交往，揭秘百余年的海底变迁景象。从中国的南海到大西洋沿岸的南美洲东海岸，海龟漫长的迁徙之路，还原了真实的海洋生态，谱写了一曲人与自然和谐共生的赞歌。
吳依薇，中國作協會員，文學碩士，魯迅文學院第36屆中青年作家高級研討班學員。出版《升旗手》《校園裏的奇葩部落》等六部兒童文學作品。作品曾入選國家“十三五”重點圖書規劃專案，入選“中國好童書100佳”，獲遼寧省精神文明建設“五個一工程”獎；首屆“遼寧好書”獎，遼寧省精品圖書獎等。
