島上來了一個女醫生，豆漿店的小劉說她姓程，打扮素淨，經常說著其他人聽不懂的專業術語，剛到島上的第一天就救了港口的大嗓門老伯。
程醫生很溫柔，村裡的小孩都喜歡她，總是圍著她繞圈圈，無論問什麼問題，她都能回答。
林思瑤總覺得見過那個新來的醫生。
「我叫程知遠，知道的知，遠方的遠。」她仔細在手掌心寫字的樣子，比她還像個老師。
林思瑤討厭消毒水的味道，卻眷戀程知遠醫生袍上淡淡的苦味。
程知遠知道後山的無人小徑、熟悉市場裡阿姨們的性格、聽得懂饅頭店老闆的奇特口音，可是她說自己從未來過島上。
「妳見過我嗎？」
「沒有。」
「真的？」
「真的。」

程醫生神祕又溫柔，好像知道所有事情的答案，卻這麼告訴她。
「找不到答案也無所謂，因為人生沒有答案，只有選擇。」
