李商隱與林黛玉的詩作美學在《紅樓夢》中爭執不斷。例如第十九回《情切切良宵花解語，意綿綿靜日玉生香》。但有專家提醒，總覺得「玉生香」有點眼熟，不知是哪位古人先前已使用過了。後來一經查閱才發現類似的詞語曾出現在李商隱的七言律詩〈錦瑟〉中。但「玉生煙」三個字已被曹雪芹巧妙地改為「玉生香」。這之間的關聯性實在值得玩味。
