維吉爾·莫里斯·希利爾（VirgilMoresHillyer），美國兒童教育家、科普作家。出生于美國麻塞諸塞州韋茅斯，畢業于哈佛大學，後擔任卡爾弗特學校第一任校長，期間創建了“卡爾弗特教育體系”，成為教育史上採用針對兒童的遠端教育體系的第一人。希利爾認為孩子們應當接受歷史、藝術、地理和科學的系統教育，並親自編寫了一套歷史、地理和藝術讀物，成為西方在家教育體系中很受推崇的一套常用教材。
