《养性延命录》，也作《养生延命录》，南梁·陶弘景编集。书分上、下二卷，卷各三篇，以义类题篇名，如教诫、食诫、杂诫、服气疗病、导引按摩、御女损益等篇。此书保存了一些珍贵的资料，且对后世道教的养生理论及方法颇有影响。
陶弘景（456~536 年），字通明，自号华阳隐居，又号胜力菩萨或云陶胜力，丹阳秣陵（今江苏南京）人，是南朝齐、梁时道教学者、炼丹家、医药学家。以下是其详细介绍：
生平经历：出身南朝士族，10 岁读《神仙传》，有养生之志，15 岁作《寻山志》，倾慕隐逸生活。20 岁时齐高帝引为诸王侍读，后拜左卫殿中将军。30 岁左右，拜道士孙游岳为师，受符图、经法、诰诀，遂遍游名山，寻访仙药真经。
