本書是作者曹其真博客文章的編集，作者經歷豐富，身跨數界，勤於筆耕，從2009年11月到2019年9月的十年間，她在從事慈善和教育事業的百忙當中，藉助新浪博客的現代方式，寫下了三百多篇博文約一百四十萬字，文筆樸素，不厭其煩，把作者從商、從政和讀書的經歷和感悟娓娓道來，濃縮傳奇人生，展示心路歷程，給人啟迪鼓勵，在澳門和內地青年中爭相傳閱、收藏。本書從其博文中選取了五十三篇，分組為五編，每編約十篇，附錄一篇由澳門當地人士撰寫、全面介紹作者人生經歷的文章。對廣大青少年特別是澳門青少年有一定的教育意義。
曹其真，1941年12月生於寧波，長於上海。由安徽大學物理系畢業後，赴巴黎完成法國語言及文學課程。1968年至澳門定居，在父親公司打工。1976年參加澳門第一屆立法會直接選舉，成功當選。1999年10月12日當選為中華人民共和國澳門特別行政區第一屆立法會主席，成為第一個用中文主持立法會議的人，也成為澳門政界職位最高的女性。
