“陳映真是一株枝葉繁茂、內蘊劇毒、根深蒂固的蘋果樹。那株劇毒的樹上自然盛結著毒汁飽滿、顏色光鮮的小紅蘋果。然而那些掩映其間，紅綠交錯的你們這些小紅蘋果，每一顆都是毒蘋果。我們只是想將那樹連根拔起，鏟除它。”早就被官方視為陳映真黨羽的善繼兄作為一個卓然有成的詩人心悅誠服地自比為陳映真這株“毒蘋果樹”上的一顆“毒蘋果”，並以此為名，寫下一系列散文，除了讓我們看見陳映真的感召力，也讓我們感受到左翼運動本身的生命力，縱然在政治的領域被趕盡殺絕，在文學和思想的領域卻是野火燒不盡，春風吹又生。
