陶基強，1929年生於中國南京，抗日戰爭時期舉家隨國民政府遷往陪都重慶，抗戰勝利後回南京，國共內戰爆發後，1949年二十歲時隻身隨國民革命軍遺族學校遷往台灣，畢業於國立台灣大學歷史學系，畢生任中學教師直至退休，現居台灣高雄。
