平型關大捷是指在抗戰中八路軍115師於1937年9月25日在平型關附近伏擊日本第5師團21旅團輜重隊，殲其1000餘人的戰鬥，這是中日開戰以來中方取得的第一次完勝。這次勝利打破了日本軍隊不可戰勝的神話，振奮了全國人心，加強了全國人民抗戰必勝的信念。同時通過此次戰鬥，八路軍進一步明確了開展“獨立自主的山地遊擊戰”才是唯一正確的戰略方針。
