薄平板結構在金屬或玻璃等帷幕上使用很多，因其為附屬結構要求輕巧，故除重力外主要由風力控制，特別是風吸力。而此輕巧薄板結構若採一般彎曲應變能(Bending Strain Energy)來結構分析常會發散，必須再加入軸向應變能(Axial Strain Energy)才能使結構分析更為合理，而考慮軸向應變能即為幾何非線性(Geometrical Nonlinearity)，且幾何非線性即所常看到的P-Delta與Large Displacement等。本篇主要依據總勢能原理(Ref.-01)或最小勢能原理(Ref.-02)，配合LuChiMan開創的變形函數來解決薄平板結構之幾何非線性問題，先以兩端鉸接之薄平板簡支為例，材料均保持線彈性。
