2017年9月29日，蔡添强针对其在2012年4月29日因拒绝离开克拉末（Keramat）警训中心（PULAPOL，1975年被列为禁区）的成立罪名，选择撤销上诉申请，锒铛入狱30天。本书收录他在这30天囹圄生活，他天天写日记，记录下被剥夺自由后的点点滴滴，从中领悟自由的真谛。
蔡添强
1963年生于马六甲，澳洲悉尼新南威尔斯大学（UNSW）毕业。1999年参与创建国民公正党并担任副主席。2003年国民公正党与人民党合并，易名为人民公正党，任宣传主任，现任人民公正党副主席。于2008年3月8日第12届全国大选胜选，成为吉隆坡峇都区（Batu）国会议员。2013年5月5日第13届全国大选成功连任。
