破音字被某些人稱為「華語的怪胎」，浪費了華語學習、使用者的大量寶貴時間，嚴重影響了華語走向國際。
不管哪一種語言，沒有破音字都是一種理想的狀況，字形和讀音應當關聯起來。比如寫成「緣份」讀ㄩㄢˊㄈㄣˋ，寫成「緣分」就讀ㄩㄢˊㄈㄣ。也就是說，「分」沒必要成為破音字。再比如，把「校對」用作「較對」，「奇數」用作「畸數」，「無色無臭」用作「無色無嗅」，「暴虎馮河」用作「暴虎憑河」，無論從字義上還是讀音上，都沒有任何問題。
本字典100％變通了破音字。即變通後「一字一音」，沒有一個破音字。
