《觀光日記》是日治初期臺灣文人吳德功受邀參加臺灣總督府舉辦的揚文會，所撰的參觀旅行日記。
《觀光日記》即作者 1900 年 3 月 8 日自家鄉彰化起程，北上參加揚文會，至31 日返回彰化，共計24 天旅行期間的旅行日記。透過《觀光日記》的詩文，我們可以認識當時日本政府對於臺灣文人的籠絡，並感受到當時臺灣傳統知識分子面對外來的統治者及新知識的心理衝擊與適應。
吳德功，字汝能，號立軒，臺灣彰化人，生於清朝道光三十年（1850），同治十三年（1874）補博士弟子員；光緒十七年（1891），任職「臺灣通志局」主修《彰化縣志》；光緒二十年（1894），以編年體裁著手撰寫《戴案紀略》、《施案紀略》。次年，臺灣割讓，受臺灣府知府孫傳袞邀請，籌設「聯甲局」，參與乙未抗日戰爭。失敗後隱居，撰寫《讓臺記》。
明治三十年（1897），日本政府因吳德功為地方名人，聘為彰化辦務署臺中廳參事，明治三十二年（1899），又聘為臺中師範學校教授，講授漢文。次年，吳德功受邀參加揚文會。
